The Wagga Wagga Food and Wine Festival is a celebration of local food, wine, and beer, aimed at promoting local businesses and showcasing the charms of Wagga Wagga city.
The festival caters to families, with adults as its primary target audience. The last festival took place on Saturday, March 25, 2023, during Australia's autumn season, offering an ideal balance of warmth and coolness. Running from 4 PM to 10 PM, it provided a unique experience with both daylight and nighttime ambiances.
The event takes place at Victoria Memorial Gardens, situated in the heart of Wagga Wagga's CBD. While it’s accessible by public transport, reaching the venue by car is more efficient and convenient. This approach aligns with the event’s target audience, which seems to be established adults who have access to their own vehicles.
In 2023, Wagga Wagga collaborated with local wineries and breweries, including Kosciuszko, Grove Estate Wines, Yenda Brewing Co., Pressman's Apple Cider, Tumbalong Hills, and more. Food and beverage stalls are selected through a self-application process, allowing stallholders to register their businesses to operate in the festival.
The wireframes are expected to solve 6 main things (in no particular order):
Navigation: The navigation can be enhanced by streamlining and adding key pages to the navigation bar, while strategically placing CTAs throughout the homepage.
Content: The content can be improved by offering vital information without overwhelming the homepage, and ensure it guides users to the relevant pages when necessary.
Layout: The layout should prioritise essential event elements like ticketing and available attractions, rather than emphasising sponsorship and partners.
Web Design: The website’s design appeared boxy and restrictive. Enhancing the design to create a more three-dimensional and vibrant look can make it more appealing to potential attendees.
Legibility: While choosing sans-serif is good, some text is too small and thin, and unsegmented paragraphs make reading less user-friendly.
Allure: The website needs more enticing elements, like event details, trailers, and performances, to attract potential attendees.
