'Get Well Soon'

Painting has always been my therapeutic medium. I painted this during a hard time I went through recently, where my mind, body and soul felt incredibly drained. Talking or writing about it felt strange because I'm never one to know how to articulate my feelings. And so I visualised it instead.

The University of New South Wales, the university I'm currently enrolled to, proposed an opportunity to picture mental health awareness through an art exhibition. I had several other contenders I wanted to submit for this competition, but none of them felt 'right.' Feeling defeated, I pulled out this painting from my archives and immediately thought, "This is it."
